THE
FOLLOWING SAFETY TRAINING AND EDUCATION PROGRAMS ARE
AVAILABLE TO MEMEBERS AND INDUSTRY. EACH IS
DESIGNED TO ASSIST INDUSTRY IN MEETING THE APPLICABLE
OSHA REQUIREMENTS FOR THEIR SPECIFIC AREA. THE
PROGRAMS WILL BE TAILORED TO THE CLIENTS OPERATIONS
AND FACILITIES AS APPLICABLE. THEY WILL BE CONDUCTED
ON YOUR SITE. EACH PROGRAM RUNS APPROXIMATELY
ONE HOUR AND ARE AVAILABLE IN SPANISH AND ENGLISH.
BLOODBORNE
PATHOGENS
A
written exposure control plan is required along with
training of all employees on universal precaution
and use of personal protective equipment. Starting
with first aid and CPR trained personnel down through
work supervisors.
FIRST
AID & CPR
Every
company more than four minutes away from an emergency
medical facility is required to have sufficient personnel
trained and certified in first aid and CPR on each
shift.
EMERGENCY
ACTION & EVALUATION
This
training is designed to assist you in meeting the
requirements of OSHA for training and preparation
for emergency response. The program will be
tailored to meet the clients needs with regard
to size, location of facilities, and operations.
All
employees must be trained in emergency procedures
and a mock drill must be held once a year. Each
company should develop an emergency response team
familiar with all emergency procedures and equipment.
SAFETY
COMMITTEE TRAINING
Installation
of company injury and illness prevention plan and
review of company safety policy and procedures.
Instructions in managing your plan, setting goals,
and documentation and record keeping are stressed.
HAZARD
COMMUNICATION (CHEMICAL EXPOSURE AND HANDLING)
This
educational program has several component parts, each
of which builds upon the one proceeding: audiovisual
tape, MSDS Exercise, Discussion, and quiz. All
will provide compliance with OSHA requirements for
training in Hazard Communication.
All
employees must be trained & certified in
the Haz Com procedures including understanding MSDS
Sheets & Labeling.
LOCKOUT/TAG
OUT
The
Lockout/Tagout Safety Training program is a proven
method of providing your companys compliance
with the OSHA regulations for lockout/tagout safety.
This program has been used by hundreds of companies
to train and certify their employees abilities
and skills in the handling of energized systems safely.
The following outline covers the programs contents:
Overview of Program; Lecture and Discussion; Safety
Video; Review of Lockout/Tagout Policies and Procedures;
Review of Program and Materials; Written Test and
Certification.
All
supervisors and maintenance personnel must be trained
in lockout/tagout procedures and the proper use of
lockout equipment.
JOB
SAFETY ANALYSIS
Each
major job function on significant machinery must have
a written job safety analysis developed and communicated
to all machine operators. Operators should post
it at the job site for easy review.
BACK
INJURY PREVENTION
In
todays work environment, back injuries account
for nearly 20% of all injuries. But the cost
of these injuries accounts for nearly 60% of all Workers
Compensation Insurance cost.
This
program has been developed to provide you with the
information needed to help prevent the possibility
of back injury. The program has been designed
to meet requirements of OSHA as well as reinforce
company policy on the prevention of back injuries.
A
formal back injury prevention program should be established
with all supervisors being trained in proper lifting
techniques.
SAFE
DRIVING TRAINING
The
Defensive Driving Program is a program that has been
utilized successfully by hundreds of companies to
enhance their employees driving skills.
It is a program designed to reinforce the good driving
habits and skills that each of us has learned, but
may not always utilize. The following outline
covers the programs contents: Overview
of Program; Review of Basic Safe Driving Principles;
Defensive Driving Safety Film; Review of Defensive
Driving Principles; and written test.
DOT
Driver Program is required for all truck drivers,
with a general safe driving course for light truck
and auto drivers together with installing a drug free
workplace program.
FORKLIFT
DRIVER CERTIFICATION
The
Forklift Certification-Training Program is a proven
method of providing your company with the OSHA regulations
for the certification of qualified forklift
operators. This program has been successfully
used by hundreds of companies to certify their employees
abilities and skills in the safe handling of forklifts.
All
forklift and pallet jack operators must be formally
trained in safe operating practices and should be
certified as trained.
DOCUMENTATION
AND RECORD KEEPING
All
supervisory personnel should be carefully trained
in proper documentation and record keeping systems
with the emphasis placed on the critical importance
of this procedure. Your plan will mostly be
judged by its documentation and record keeping procedures,
making this one of the most important training elements.
SAFETY
INPECTIONS AND HAZARD RECOGNITION
All
department heads and safety committee members should
be trained in inspection procedures and hazard recognition
and proper corrective actions.
HAZARDOUS
MATERIAL HANDLING
This
is specialized training which must be specifically
designed to a companies needs based on factors
such as: volume, type and frequency of material handled.
SUPERVISORS
SAFETY TRAINING CONFERENCES
The
Supervisors Safety Training Conferences are
one of the many training programs available to clients
to assist them in their efforts toward accident prevention.
The program will also assist in meeting the Cal/OSHA
requirements for the training of supervisors under
Section 3203.a.7.F. The conferences are designed
to explore and develop positive behavior in the supervisor
to assist them in their quest for safety and operational
excellence. The conferences are conducted in
a manner that encourages the participants to act upon
individual initiative and instinct to improve employee
performance.
RESPIRATORY
PROTECTION TRAINING
In
this program, we will provide the necessary training
for the clients employees to meet the requirements
of the OSHA regulations for Respiratory Fit Testing,
which includes qualitative and quantitative fit testing,
i.e., negative and positive pressure fit test.
Also included are the key element of hazard identification
and recognition. A written policy and procedure
is required if any respiratory equipment is used.
HEARING
CONSERVATION TRAINING
This
training program will provide employees with an understanding
of the need for the proper procedures and use of hearing
conservation equipment. It will also train them
in the proper use of hearing protective devices.
The program will explain why OSHA requires hearing
conservation and what the requirements are for compliance
with applicable standards.
